Two for the price of one! Double-sided unframed oil on canvas
The first side depicts a bucolic river scene and has a fabulous craquelure finish to it belying its age.
A gentle & mellow scene yet with enough activity to hold interest in the form of a fisherman on the river, an individual on the bridge and a peasant woman resting on the bench with her basket. The distant mountain range and the avenue of trees both lead the eye away and add depth.
Wonderfully muted & serene colours that would work well in any interior
And now to the reverse...
This canvas has clearly been repurposed at some point and a much later rendering of a church & graveyard can be found to the rear, signed D. Rose.

Both paintings are rendered in oils meaning the canvas has a real weight and substance to it. I have chosen not to frame it but have instead hung it using a vintage advertising hanger - which is included. Its an alternative and quirky way to display unframed paintings, but leaves the buyer the option to frame if they wish

1010 Vintage is run by Mel - an incorrigible magpie with a passion for collecting and curating.  Based in mid-Wales, Mel's extensive collections have spilled out of the house, into the barns and from there onto her website.

The emphasis of 1010 Vintage is on faded glamour and rustic charm, and each piece is handpicked for its aesthetic or originality. 1010 Vintage focuses on items that sing as solo statement pieces and quirky collectibles that work to great effect en masse. Each item has had a previous life and carries that imprint with it into its new home. Where the provenance is known, details will happily be shared so these timeworn but treasured pieces don’t lose their back story – or their history.
