French chemise, dyed with indigo, summer dress

I have a bit of a thing with indigo and the Japanese art of shibori (tie dye). This chemise has been bundle tied and then dipped into my indigo vat. The results are always dramatic and this piece is no exception, it's come out so well.

Charming antique French short sleeved country style linen metis chemise/dress with sweet hand stitched scalloped edging to the neck. Traditional shape and style. Gathered neck with little JM monogram centred below the drawstring, lovely French seams, dating to around 1900.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no damage or wear. These chemises are so comfortable to wear - loose, floaty and so easy. This one will look great over jeans with a white tee shirt underneath, or used as a dress in the summer.

Freshly laundered and ready for use. Fabric is a linen metis which is lovely and soft. It's a medium weight which will be perfect in the spring and summer. In excellent vintage condition with no marks or damage.

I have 20-30 chemises in stock at any time so if you are looking for something in particular or would like something dyed for you, please get in touch.
