A set of three, Wedgwood basalt coffee cups and saucers. Each cup and saucer is decorated with an engine turned design which is done to resemble bamboo. This form of design was used on caneware in the early 19th century but is quite uncommon in basalt of this period. Each piece is marked ‘WEDGWOOD’ with a separate ‘ETRURIA ENGLAND’. This mark was only used for about five years, around 1895. The cups measure 6cm. high by 5.9cm. diameter and the saucers are 13.2cm. diameter. They are fine quality, well potted, and they are all in excellent condition.
