An attractive, Victorian beechwood breadboard. This is carved with the word “Bread”, long leaves and wheat. The design is chip carved and the board dates from c.1880. The wood has a good, rich, patina and there is a dip to the centre of the board from continued use. The board is in good condition with just the usual scratching to both the face and the reverse, consistent with use. There is also a little staining to the rim.
