A beautiful, two-part, French copper nougat or chocolate mould in the shape of a griffin, with its original steel clips to hold it together. This is a lovely quality piece. It is marked
“TROTTIER FNT PARIS” within a circular mark and it dates from c.1880. Originally it would have been tinned all over but the tinning to the exterior has been removed to reveal the copper beneath. The mould would turn out a three dimensional griffin and the moulding is very deep and well detailed. There are tiny splits around one of the lugs which keep the mould in place when in use but these do not affect the look or the usability of the mould. Otherwise it is in very good condition and the tinning, to the interior, is still in very good, bright, usable condition.
Dimensions: Height 15.6cm. Width 13cm. Depth 4cm.
