A rectangular, French copper casserole and cover with a steel, side handle. This is a good quality piece, made from a very heavy gauge of copper and having castellated seams around the base and up the side. The steel handle has a simple, elliptical fitting and there is a plain, copper, strap handle to the lid. It dates from c.1860 and other than some very slight pitting to the copper it is in very good condition. The interior been re-tinned so that it can be used.
