A fabulous quality, Welsh pottery plate with an arcaded border. Marked “BAKER, BEVANS & IRWINS” this was the mark of the Glamorgan Pottery from 1813 until 1839. This plate dates from c.1820. The pearlware plate has a basket moulded border, which is coloured in green enamel, within an arcaded rim with brown line decoration. The centre is hand painted with flowers and foliage, in green, red, pink, yellow, blue and brown enamels. There is a tiny hairline running from the rim to the arcading but otherwise the piece is in very good condition, with no restoration.
