An impressive art deco 'Hoosier' cabinet by Lusty called the Maidsaver. In oak and early plywood. two vertical cabinets flank the central glazed cabinet with a leaded glass pair of doors above a further set of drawers, a pullout enamel work surface and a lower storage cupboard. The two tall cupboards for utensils, tins, jams, bottles and general domesticalia have signs of a built in ironing board. there is a small cutlery box and more shelves. It is fairly light and separates into three parts. It is very atmospheric with signs of treated wormholes. old scratches and patination of use, overall is in good utilitarian order. This is a rare example and visually captivating.

I am an artist, sculptor, collector and restorer.  I have always been inspired and influenced by my love of the old. Since collecting tins, postcards, early textiles and gadgets as a teenager I have surrounded myself with “stuff”. I started trading in the 1970s from my architectural effects shop Leaded Lights and design shop Gothic in Greenwich. My stock reflects my enjoyment of the antique and the peculiar, from early Medieval to Victorian to Art Deco and industrial design.

I endeavour to hunt out the unusual - richly patinated wood, faded sun-drenched   paintwork and gently burnished ironwork.

We are based in a Victorian Gothic building in Somerset, only 15 minutes from the M5.
