An unusual richly carved chair in walnut and other woods, where two different styles combine. The very simple Country style pegged and tapered legs contrasting with the complex flowing neo Baroque back support. This seems to be slotted into a horizontal hole which can be unpegged and used as a small table or stool or transported with ease. Possibly Swiss or Tyrolean. A simpler version is on show in the Philadelphian Museum. Later screws and signs of glue on the base

I am an artist, sculptor, collector and restorer.  I have always been inspired and influenced by my love of the old. Since collecting tins, postcards, early textiles and gadgets as a teenager I have surrounded myself with “stuff”. I started trading in the 1970s from my architectural effects shop Leaded Lights and design shop Gothic in Greenwich. My stock reflects my enjoyment of the antique and the peculiar, from early Medieval to Victorian to Art Deco and industrial design.

I endeavour to hunt out the unusual - richly patinated wood, faded sun-drenched   paintwork and gently burnished ironwork.

We are based in a Victorian Gothic building in Somerset, only 15 minutes from the M5.
