1945, Posie with Apples, Karl Enock Olsonn

1945, Swedish still life by Karl Enock Olsonn (1889-1958)

Deliciously reminiscent of Vanessa Bell's paintings at Charleston this sweetheart ticks all our decorators' boxes. Loosely painted with no restraint and full of joie de vivre a flowered jug is giggling with pink and butter poppies and white marguerites. Four stoic apples, in wonderful salmon pink and emerald, stand like sentries, keeping order.

If your heart belongs to Bloomsbury this painting is for you.

About the Artist

Karl Enock Waldemar Ohlsson, born May 15, 1889 in Malmö, died March 20, 1958 in Malmö, was a Swedish painter and artist.
