1960's, 'Russian Sailor' Alexei Solodovnikov

BARNSTAR
Evocative, Russian School, portrait of a sailor by Soviet artist Alexei Pavlovitch Solodovnikov (1928-2017). Painted on board, this stunning portrait is filled with light. The young sailor, his ruck sack over his shoulder and sporting a Breton shirt, looks thoughtful as he looks into the middle distance. Calm emanates from a powder blue sky.
