Made in the middle of the 19th Century, this Dutch shipyard model concentrates on the hull profile and, as it was the convention, shows only a few deck details. The object was to show to scale the lines of the ship from stem to stern. The model is mounted onto a backboard with an inscription as seen in the photographs of a Dutch schooner called Vice Admiraal Maij giving its tonnage and launch date of 1865.

A rare and original "work of art".

Roger Lascelles has spent the past 35 years building a collection of vintage and antique clocks that is second to none.

He maintains a collection of over 500 clocks, ranging from antique longcase clocks to large external turret clock dials, from Bakelite mantel clocks to charming old French Bistro clocks.

Roger frequents antique markets and auction houses at home and abroad. With the help of a small team of skilled craftsmen, he enjoys restoring and reviving clocks that have seen better days to give them back their original charm and character.

He welcomes visitors by appointment to his 4,500 sq ft showroom and workshop in Wandsworth, South West London.
