A Stylish Chinoiserie Wall Mirror. Decorated in the Chinese Chinoiserie manner depicting figures in traditional costumes, flowers & birds, surrounding the original wall mirror. The lacquered rectangular frame has a beautiful pediment to top and a bevelled mirror. C1880

This type of mirror is highly collectible, considered art in its own right, the quality of the painting is exquisite. Chinoiserie was a decorative style in Western art, furniture, and architecture, especially in the 18th century, characterised by the use of Chinese motifs and techniques.
