We have an unusual and rare set of College Parchments, hand painted, Oil on card, representing the Lion and Four Scallop Shells. C1940’s

The Lion is a common charge in heraldry, it traditionally symbolises courage, nobility, royalty, strength, stateliness and valour, because historically the Lion has been regarded as the "king of beasts".

The Scallop shell symbolises travellers to far places or victorious naval commander. The four shells also represent, England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales.

These would have been displayed in the Halls on ribbon, they have been recently framed to showcase their vibrant colour and to preserve them. (11 available, these are sold separately, but can be bought as a set on request)
