Tracy Thomas and her husband Simon share their home in West Sussex in the beautiful Sothdowns National Park, where they have lived for the past thirty two years and from where, since 2007 Tracy has managed her antique and vintage home and garden business, Envy of London.  They have raised two children and are now blessed with two grandchildren.

Tracy has enviable artistic ability and is one of life’s freethinkers. with her attention to detail she has the uncanny ability to fuse older pieces with the more contemporary with exciting results.

Says Tracy, “I love the offbeat pieces that demand your attention, make you smile and encourage you to pick them up or run your hands over them, you can learn so much about and from a piece just by handling it.

If pressed on my preferred style I would have to plumb for industrial. I am fascinated by old industrial trollies, banks of shelves and the like, so much history, the folk that used them and what practical use they were out to is all part of the appeal.

We take the neglected and following some TLC give them a new lease of life in someone’s kitchen or lounge what could be better”.

Simon’s support is essential in the success of Envy Of London, he is tenacious in his efforts to source the the fascinating, the unusual and sometimes bizarre.

Both Tracy and Simon are avid recyclers, they will happily use the remnants of a piece of Victorian furniture and marry it up with a mid century something turning it into furniture of their own design.
