Utagawa Hiroshige (1792-1858) is recognized as one of the greatest masters of ukiyo-e woodcuts. This composition is one of his most celebrated works, Autumn moon over Tamagawa River from the series Eight Scenic Views around Edo.
We are unable to verify the provenance of this woodcut, so we must assume that it was produced around 1905 from recarved blocks, replicating the original. Framed and glazed.
The frame: 53cm wide, 38cm high
The picture: 35cm wide, 22cm high
