Set of two Chinese carved ancestral portraits on wood panels depicting an emperor and empress. Wonderful detail on both garments, with calligraphy to the right side of both portraits. The empress panel’s calligraphy translates as “After the Ming Dynasty,” while the emperor panel reads “Ming Dynasty Emperor.” Displayed in a rosewood frame with attached brass fixing to the tops of each ancestral portrait.
