Sterling silver card case hallmarked "JNM" Birmingham, 1890, with gilt interior. Engraved "Charterhouse Athletics Sports 1891" above the crest, with "Second Prize, Old Carthusians Handicap" below, followed by "Won by" which is left unengraved. This lovely piece of Victorian sterling has some dimpling and tarnish commensurate with its age, but closes perfectly with hinges in excellent condition. A wonderful example of Victorian-era card cases which easily accommodates modern business cards, making this piece a wonderful gift. Polished by request on purchase.
