Set of four large pewter chargers made by John Carpenter of London, who was born in 1690 and died in 1747 John was apprenticed to Thomas Taylor who was a pewterer in Panton St. John later set up shop at 25 Haymarket. John was appointed as Pewterer to The Royal Hospital of Chelsea in 1738. There are crowns engraved on the plates
