Finely scissor cut white on stone silhouette of -The Fox and the Grapes- one of Aesops Fables

'The fox tries to eat the grapes on the vine but cannot reach them so rather than admit defeat he says they are sour'-
'There are many who pretend to despise and belittle that which is beyond their reach'

These fables were to teach children good behaviour and were very popular in the 18th and 19th century
