An unusual articulated Black Forest crocodile dating to between about 1900 and 1910. It is made up of 15 separate wooden sections joined down the middle of the body with a string, allowing the body the flex sinuously. It is beautifully carved, particularly around the head, with its open mouth, tongue and teeth. It has inset black glass eyes. A very rare and unusual piece.

Condition : The front feet have been restored, there is a repair to one of the back legs, and the tail tip has been replaced. Otherwise it is in good condition commensurate with its age.

Welcome to Ginger Tom's Curious Eclectic.  We are a husband and wife team, both with a lifelong interest in antiques. Our business stems from the usual collector turned dealer scenario.  As our own collections grew, it became obvious we needed to redistribute some items in order to make space to buy new treasures to feed our own habit.

Buying to sell seemed the natural progression from this. We have been involved in buying and selling since 2004, but have only recently taken the decision to establish an online presence. We don't specialise in any particular area, but our interests do influence our stock purchases to a degree.

Our stock includes a varied mix of unusual antique, interesting vintage and stylish contemporary objects that would suit many different settings. Our key criteria is that we only buy, and therefore only sell, items that we would have in our own home and believe that if we like something, others will too.

Our opening hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
