'Dessous de plat' or under the plate as the French call this item. It was produced at the Badenviller factory which opened in 1885. The company flourished during the 20s-30s embracing the Art Deco-style inspired by artist Geo Conde, sculptor and ceramicist. This ceramic plate stand has Conde's striking Deco design which is both simple and effective showing a black geometric surround interspersed with single apricots and a central design of apricots in a basket.
