An antique double sided verre eglomise advertising / shop sign for Aquascutum Coats using embossed gold leaf dating to the late 19th / early 20th century.
This is a double sided sign that is in the original enamelled steel frame with hanging eyes.The design is repeated on two pieces of glass which are back to back within the frame. In very good condition ( some small enamel losses to the frame).
Verre eglomise is a highly skilled and labour intensive process that goes back many centuries.

18.5"/47cm max width by 13.75"/35 max height including eyes.
Approx 1.25"/3.3cm deep.
