A Pair of Scottish Bo'ness Pottery Dogs

A pair of Staffordshire type pottery tan and white dogs dating from circa 1900, with painted features and glass eyes, manufactured by the Bridgeness factory in Barrowstouness (known as Bo'ness) in Scotland.

Although Victorian dogs and animals of this type are generally attributed to being of Staffordshire manufacture they were also produced in large numbers in the potteries of Bo'ness, Scotland - see for an interesting history of pottery production in the area.

In excellent condition, with glass eyes and gilt highlights, no chips or restorations.
