Framed Print Dante & Beatrice after Henry Holiday

After Henry Holiday, a sepia art print depicting the Meeting of Dante and Beatrice.
Probably published by Felix Rosenstiel, London, circa 1900. Within a contemporary walnut frame with gilt slip.

Henry Holiday was a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and travelled to Florence to ensure the painting would be historically correct, even making clay models of the buildings once back at his studio in London to ensure accuracy. The original painting is on display at The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.

With a lifelong passion for the subject, Lisa has worked in the word of art and antiques for over 25 years.  Sixteen of these were spent as a Director of an Auctioneers in London before moving to South West France with her husband Marc Allum to restore a rambling 17th Century Chateau, which they used as base to host art and antique holidays. 
After returning to the UK in 2012, Hand of Glory was born, offering an eclectic mix of antiques, objects and.... in the words of John Tradescant; 'anything strang (sic)'
In addition to running Hand of Glory, Lisa also writes for various magazines.
