19thC Faux Bamboo and Chinoiserie Tryptic

A tryptic mirror by the renowned Miroir Brot company in France. Miroir Brot invented, designed & patented this form of tryptic mechanism which at the time was very innovative. The mirror is contained within a decorative faux bamboo frame which is in beech, this then hangs from an elegant chain link that gives it an architectural pediment look.
On the front and the inside there are aesthetic chinoiserie paper linings that are original, although marked, faded and having areas of damage, but still present.
On the closing clip where later ones have the Miroir Brot name this one has 'Brevete SGDG'
which means 'Patent without Government guarantee' and then after that it says 'Patented 1875'.
