Fantastically bold, this large Martini enamel sign is the lesser seen variant of Martini's mid-century enamel advertising. Most examples of Martini's enamel signage feature the company's iconic 'bar and ball' logo, but here we see a much simpler design with the word 'Martini' spelt out in large white letters, with a black drop shadow all set against a vibrant red background.
The sign was produced in Belgium in 1956 and remains in fantastic condition with vibrant colours and a wonderful surface gloss (see angled photos). There are a couple of small patches of enamel loss around the outer edges and one small patch on the first 'I' but generally this is a very clean example that displays beautifully.
Please note that the slight greying to the drop shadow of the second 'I' is just a reflection - if you look at the angled photograph you'll see that it's as black as the other letters.
The sign can be hung using it's original mounting tabs / 'ears' and measures 1.47m wide x 47cm high (52cm inc. the tabs) and has a 1.5cm return which adds to the sign's rigidity.
