Item Description

These late Victorian (c.1890s) stoneware beer / ginger beer bottles are wonderfully decorative pieces with a thick glaze and wonderful, crisp graphics / lettering. This example is for John Powton's 'Superior Fermented Ginger Beer' - from 93 St. Andrew's Street, Newcastle on Tyne. Ginger beer was originally an alcoholic brew made from fermenting ginger, sugar, and water. The bottle has survived it's years in good order with some discolouration around the bottom and a couple of marks to the back, but no notable chips / damage. The bottle measures 20.3cm high and is 6.5cm in diameter. The price includes UK Mainland delivery.
