Weathered garden bench with heavy cast iron branch ends and mossy oak beams, probably dating from the first quarter of the 20th century. There is a flex to the oak beams which puts this bench on the cusp of practicality. I have sat on either end but have not dared to put my full weight in the center although oddly this is a part of its charm. The variety of vigor of the moss is incredible, the living poetry of nature on the march. This bench would look incredible in any garden where nature runs wild but not entirely untamed.

Lost Property represents the fine city of Norwich in the heart of East Anglia and has been trading there since 2010. For Lost Property, trading antiques and vintage is the fine line walked between artistry and commerce, feast or famine. It’s the bittersweet tug of wanting to hold onto something forever, but knowing you have to let it go. The Lost Property ‘eye’ focuses on the functional and the decorative with a rebellious slant towards the crude and imperfect.
