Amish large metal barn stars

These striking decorative barn stars replicate the star motifs created by 18th and 19th century European immigrants to America to hang on their farm barns. The rural dwellers believed that the star signs would ward off evil spirits, preventing their livestock from getting sick, and their stored crops becoming soured.

These decorative metal stars are made in rural America in the traditional style, and come in two sizes, large (measuring 112cm across) and small (measuring 76cm across). These large stars are now available in two colours only - green and blue. Several available of each size and colour, each one differing in the amount of surface 'distressing'.

  • H: 112cm (44.09in)
  • W: 112cm (44.09in)
  • D: 15cm (5.91in)

Marc has been successfully dealing in decorative antiques for over 15 years, fuelled by his lifelong passion for artefacts of the past. His workshop, a converted Methodist Sunday School, is located on the edge of Bodmin Moor, Cornwall.

He successfully mixes styles and periods to create his own unique collection of ‘delightful objects’. Good design, craftsmanship, colour and an age-worn patina all play their part in his discerning approach to buying. His selection of stock is often based on its aesthetic appeal rather than its age, and he loves to find items that have a story to tell.

Visits to Marc’s workshop and stores can be arranged by appointment.
