A sturdy antique pine workbench, dating from the early 1900s. Having originally come from an Edwardian industrial building, it shows all the evidence of its former practical life, with drill holes, scorch marks, and indents where machinery was once secured to it. Besides use as a workbench, this piece could now also be utilized as a kitchen island, or serving console table. There is some very useful storage at either end in the 'pigeonhole' shelves, ideal for cutlery and/or utensils.

It has been thoroughly scrubbed, but could be either waxed or sealed depending on what use it is eventually intended for. A very characterful item of furniture with simple, unfussy, design.

Marc has been successfully dealing in decorative antiques for over 15 years, fuelled by his lifelong passion for artefacts of the past. His workshop, a converted Methodist Sunday School, is located on the edge of Bodmin Moor, Cornwall.

He successfully mixes styles and periods to create his own unique collection of ‘delightful objects’. Good design, craftsmanship, colour and an age-worn patina all play their part in his discerning approach to buying. His selection of stock is often based on its aesthetic appeal rather than its age, and he loves to find items that have a story to tell.

Visits to Marc’s workshop and stores can be arranged by appointment.
