Bob Quixley (British 1928- ), artist based in Penzance, Cornwall since the early 1960's, working mainly in oils. Bob's use of strong robust colour is a trademark of his work, with much of it centred on coastal studies. A prolific painter in the 1950's and sixties, taking it up again after retirement from the 1980's onwards, he knew many of the big names on the St Ives and Cornish School of art scene, working alongside many of them in studios (he visited Ken Symonds' studio on Wednesday afternoons with Ray Ambrose to paint together). Bob, sadly, can no longer paint due to failing eyesight, but still takes huge enjoyment in having his work seen. A published author, and acknowledged expert on antiquarian maps, specifically of Cornwall.

Please note: courier companies will not insure frames for damage, only total loss of the package, this is framed so please take that into account. We pack well but you take the risk if you want it shipped with frame intact.

You’ll never go back to chain store or mass produced imported prints again!
We sell at art and vintage fairs, through an interiors store in the Cotswolds, and through a variety of online platforms. We have sold in excess of 1,200 pictures online.

MastheadArt is run by Jo Eveleigh, an art dealer for 14 years commercially, a private collector prior to developing the business, operating from the leafy Cotswolds with regular sojourns in Devon and Derbyshire. Her favourite finds are studio collections of hoarded art, producing gems for the re-sale market from years of sketch collections and work which the artist never brought to the marketplace. Carrying antique stock right through to contemporary work, her favourite years are the fifty years of greatest cultural swings in Britain, between the 1920s and 1970s.

A veteran of the car industry, and having lived in various parts of the UK, Jo is now thoroughly enjoying saving great pictures for the nation. Her extensive stocklist bears testament to the fact that Jo always says she cannot walk away from a great picture. Lots of her stock is eminently suitable for creating salon wall arrangements, smaller mounted works which make wonderfully quirky space fillers.

Having had a gallery in previous years, Jo now enjoys the flexibility of selling online, through art fairs, and at a small number of retail outlets throughout the year. Viewings of any item can take place at her permanent gallery wall space at Betty and Beatties Vintage Interiors in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, where an amount of her stock is in display but any item seen online can be taken there for viewing and purchase. If you are close to any of her regular trips to Devon and Derbyshire, she is always pleased to try and meet up at a suitable venue to facilitate viewings too.
