Large Antique Terracotta Urn

A beautiful antique urn terracotta pot which would have originally been used to store olives and preserved fruits in the Mediterranean.

They make a stunning feature inside or outside, empty or planted with plants. In the garden, they need to be protected from frost if planted or used as a water feature.

Height: 55cm
Width: 40.5cm
Opening: 18.5cm

Origin: Turkey

Circa: 1900

Workshop Report: Each of our pots is around 70-100 years old so will have some aged imperfections. None of our pots have any large structural cracks and any chips from wear are part of its character. Some pots have traces of white residue where they have been previously painted. The pot has been left in its original condition.

As with all our products, This product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.

Mayfly Vintage is an online industrial and vintage furniture and homeware shop based in Hampshire, England. Our style is an eclectic mix from the industrial look to old school furniture and French vintage.

Mayfly Vintage was established after years of my husband and I collecting vintage pieces of furniture and homeware in the UK and across Europe. We started off selling at the monthly Winchester Vintage Market and now exhibit at antiques fairs in the South of England alongside our online store.

The majority of our pieces are one-off unique items so our stock changes all the time. We hope you enjoy what you see and if you like our style and there is a particular item which you can’t see please do contact us and we may be able to source it for you.
