Halabala Spider Table Model H259

This Art Deco coffee table known as “spider table” was designed by Jindrich Halabala.

One of the most celebrated Czech furniture designers of the 20th century, Halabala worked as head designer for the United Arts and Crafts manufacturing company (UP) in Brno between 1930 and 1946.
He was a significant advocate of modernist, industrially manufactured furniture in Czechoslovakia and had a tremendous influence on the interior design of many interwar and postwar Czech homes.
Furniture attributable to Jindrich Halabala are much sought after today.
His designs can be found in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Museum of Art in Olomouc and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.

Square in shape the Spider table has the distinctive curved legs and rounded corners.

Mayfly Vintage is an online industrial and vintage furniture and homeware shop based in Hampshire, England. Our style is an eclectic mix from the industrial look to old school furniture and French vintage.

Mayfly Vintage was established after years of my husband and I collecting vintage pieces of furniture and homeware in the UK and across Europe. We started off selling at the monthly Winchester Vintage Market and now exhibit at antiques fairs in the South of England alongside our online store.

The majority of our pieces are one-off unique items so our stock changes all the time. We hope you enjoy what you see and if you like our style and there is a particular item which you can’t see please do contact us and we may be able to source it for you.
