Japanese Kokeshi Doll – 0

A charming Japanese wooden Kokeshi doll.

Kokeshi Dolls are thought to originate from Northern Japan in the early 19th century. They were traditionally carved to have a simple trunk with no arms or legs just a head and are handpainted. They are signed by the artist that made them. The beautiful hand painted designs give them their charm.

Origin: Japan

Circa: 1950s

Workshop Report: The woodwork is solid with no damage, some age related markings to the paintwork. The dolls have been waxed for future protection.
As with all our products, This product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.

Mayfly Vintage was established after years of my husband and I collecting vintage pieces of furniture and homeware in the UK and across Europe. We started off selling at the monthly Winchester Vintage Market and now exhibit at antiques fairs in the South of England alongside our online store.
