A beautifully hand-crafted wooden sculpture originating from the Far East.

This piece of folk art perfectly depicts the craft traditions and social values of the rural community from which it originates. The woman is dressed in colourful, traditional clothing and holds a yellow leaf in her right hand.

Believed to be rainforest wood with a vibrant polychrome painted finish.

Circa 1900.

In good order and structurally sound with wonderful colours. There is a repair to the plinth and minor loss to the yellow leaf and painted finish.
