A pair of folk art pique assiette mosaic planters.

French, early-mid 20th century.

Pique assiette is a mosaic art form whereby broken chinaware is cemented together to make random designs, scenes or patterns.

Both structurally sound with some loss to the tiles, most notably at the bases.

The bowls and bases detach for ease of transport.
