A provincial French terracotta conscience vessel. Circa 1900.

The green glaze to the rim and interior preserved the vessel's contents, as it was filled with water or oil. A rope would pass through the four handles to enable transportation by donkey or mule.

In very good order with minor loss to the green glaze.

Modants is a family run business founded in 2019.

Our eclectic and dynamic mix of items challenge the stigma that antique and vintage pieces cannot be used in a modern space.

We hand source unseen, fresh-to-market pieces in and around the Normandy, Brittany, Pays-de-la-Loire and Paris regions of France. We buy based on quality and originality, with an appetite for unusual form and design.

U.K. delivery quotes are available directly through our website, or please use the Delivery Quote form on the HV.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any additional information on any of our pieces.
