An exceptional three-piece suite in rosewood with marquetry inlay, all distinctly stamped Jeanselme.

Jeanselme is famed for being the Fornisseur du Mobilier de la Couronne (Furnisher to the Crown) under Louis Philippe King of France (1830-1848). Examples of their work can be found in Fontainebleau and the Palais Royal.

The stamp was used between 1840 and 1853.

The original shop label can also be found on one of the chairs, indicating that the chairs were initially sold by E. Arnoux, 184 Av. Victor-Hugo, Paris.
