The number signed edition is titled 'Circulo Blue' by the artist. This Spanish painter was born in Girona in 1918. Also enjoying a fruitful career as an art theorist and publisher, Tharrats is known as one of the most prominent artists of the Spanish avant-garde movement during the post-war era. His style developed from lineal abstraction towards Art Informel, with an emphasis on texture, colour and graphism, and a strong influence of surrealism. These elements are clear within 'Circulo Blue', which seems to bring out the natural forms and patterns from rippling water, focusing on how light reflects upon this surface. This fascinating, influential artist gained international success throughout his career.
