A wonderfully vibrant ‘en plein air’ study of a field by this outstanding UK artist. Busfield skillfully captures the movement of the trees and grass using his loose, impressionist technique, yet the splash of vivid red scattered throughout the foreground is what truly makes this piece such a treat for the eyes.

Brian Busfield was a celebrated Contemporary painter. Born in the UK in 1926, the artist was known for his bold, dynamic abstract paintings, such as Devil's Dyke (1972), which is currently held in Brighton & Hove Museum & Art Gallery

Combining a painter's eye and a dealer's mind, sourcing and selling artworks is Modern Decorative's passion.

Our founder, who has been a painter for many years, has over 35 years experience in the trade.

Our ethos is always 'the best signature is the painting itself'.

Originally based on London's iconic Portobello Road, we realised the potential of sourcing underrated and underpriced art and antiques in France and Spain, so we have now expanded our operations from Richmond to include Barcelona.

We find and sell exceptional pieces from across Europe, from the 19th century to contemporary, to private collectors, businesses, interior designers and those that just want to make their homes and work spaces more beautiful.

As an online company, we are constantly updating our website with new pieces, but please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any requests. Where possible, we would be happy to arrange an appointment for you to view works in person.

We would be delighted to hear if you have works for sale. We are always pleased to look at individual works and complete studio collections.

We are highly experienced with handling and shipping artworks, always obtaining competitive shipping rates and ensuring that delivery is carried out with the utmost care.

All business is handled with honesty, discretion and a commitment to quality.

Please do subscribe to our mailing list to be the first to hear about our new finds as they arrive. We have regular special offers for our subscribers.
