An outstanding and exceptionally carved Burmese/Anglo Indian demi lune console table.

This rare padouk wood table was constructed around 1880, and is highly decorated with intricate carvings of lions, birds, temples, flowers and vines. The demi lune shape has a pierced gallery back and a pierced apron, supported by four highly carved legs with lions heads and a joining stretcher. The table has a protective, removeable shaped glass on the top.

This stunning table has been lovingly cared for by the same family for two generations and is highly travelled, having once resided in Ethiopia and Namibia before returning to the UK.

Gaynor is the main buyer, with a love of chinoiserie, faux bamboo, carved oak, vintage movie posters, bones, Sex Pistols and anything with an elephant. She basically buys what she loves or whatever catches her eye. Dave, on the other hand, can turn his hand to most renovation projects and specialises in lighting.
