Chinese Wash Stand dating from the mid 19th century, with a later brass bowl.

The profusely carved red and gilt stand has a central panel with gilt figures topped with a scene of dragons amongst the clouds, chasing a flaming pearl. The floral side panels are guarded by two dogs of foo.

The wash stand has a brass bowl but would equally suit a Chinese ceramic blue and white bowl, and would look great used as a hall stand for your keys or post etc or as a stand for your favourite plant or even your fishbowl!

A stylish and versatile interior design piece.

No43Collectables is the husband and wife team of Gaynor and Dave Prior. Based in Cumbria and named after one of their pet sheep, No43, they have a passion for renovation and treasure hunting.

Gaynor is the main buyer, with a love of chinoiserie, faux bamboo, carved oak, vintage movie posters, bones, Sex Pistols and anything with an elephant. She basically buys what she loves or whatever catches her eye. Dave, on the other hand, can turn his hand to most renovation projects and specialises in lighting.

No43’s stock is available to view by appointment, please get in touch. As soon as Antique Fairs start rolling again, No43 will hit the road, starting with Newark Antiques Fair.
