A small Post-Impressionist oil on board landscape painting probably the South of France by the French artist Cheriane Cheri-Anne Born Mme Leon Paul Fargue

Cheriane studied with Marie Laurencin at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and at the Academie Julian in Paris. She took part in the Salon des Artistes Independants in 1921 and regularly exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, where she was given membership in 1925. She also exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries and also internationally including cities such as Prague, New York and Vienna. Her work is held in the permanent collections of national museums including The Museum of Modern Art (Paris), the Museum of Bordeaux, the Danish National Museum (Copenhagen) among others and is a founding member of the School of Paris.
