A late 17th century antique oak coffer. The antique oak coffer has a two panel hinged lid, (retaining its original hinges) that opens to reveal a spacious wallpapered interior, with a candle box to the left hand side. The antique oak coffer has the initials ‘T H’ carved to the centre, above a panelled front with each panel having geometric shaped detail. Raised on block feet. Beautiful colour and grain throughout.
Item Ref; M-4188
Height – 74.5cm / Width – 126cm / Depth – 53.5cm
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and shrinkage to the top (pictured), further marks to the front and sides (pictured). There is evidence of historic woodworm to the back, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The antique oak coffer remains structurally solid and sound. Overall, a good example of a 17th century antique.
