Item Details

A well-proportioned 18th century antique oak coffer or mule chest with three plank lid revealing generous storage, panelled sides, three panel front and two fitted drawers to the base each fitted with decorative brass lion drawer pulls/handles, raised on stile feet. The hinges are quite unusual and are made from both iron and wood. Simple scratch carved engraving to the front of the drawers.
Item Ref; M-1637
Height – 75cm / Width – 109cm / Depth – 50cm
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. General surface wear throughout including some marks in places, but overall, good. Structurally sound. Some minor evidence of old historic wood worm to the back – this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The hinges are later replacements and are an unusual mix of iron and wood (pictured). Ply drawer bottom replacement to one drawer. A good piece.
