A wonderful antique Welsh oak and mahogany dresser base, probably originating from North Wales. The dresser base has a T shaped arrangement of six fitted drawers with blind panel cupboards to either side. The dresser base has unusual yet attractive inlay detail to the front and crossbanding to the drawers. The dresser base is raised on simple stile feet. Finished with a fresh coat of natural wax. A particularly neat example with an undeniable country charm.
Item Ref; M-3966
Height – 90cm / Width – 156cm / Depth – 48cm
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and some staining/fading to the top surface and also to the front (pictured). The antique oak dresser base remains structurally solid and sound but does have some evidence of old historic woodworm in places - this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. There are some losses to the knob back plates and escutcheons (pictured) and replacement beading/moulding to the base. Overall, a good example with some unusual features.
