1920s Tapestry oak nursing chair

POACHERS BARN
1920s OAK NURSING CHAIR

Beautiful turned oak frame low nursing chair from 1920s. We have added new firm foam cushion with handmade cover featuring an original 1920s - 30s handwoven tapestry depicting flowers in front of a Deco fireplace silhouette. We have used another vintage handwoven floral tapestry for the upholstered back rest. The additional fabric is new rough texture linen; a rustic neutral to compliment the tapestries.

Condition Notes: Frame has been cleaned and polished but some nics, light scratches and wear to wood remain. Originally the back rest would have been cane, evidence of this can be seen only from back of chair. Upholstery nails not covered. All adding authentic character to this lovely chair.

Seat height with cushion: 32cm

POACHERS BARN is a news business set up by an old hand at vintage antiques.  Selling online and based in West Sussex, any viewings will be by appointment only.

Poacher's Barn sells furniture, both rustic and modernist, and unusual decorative items often re-purposed from rural pursuits and the industrial past; we also sell some higher end mid century pieces.

We source our stock from UK and European markets and auctions, really buying anything that catch our eye and we think may consequently appeal to our customers. Age of pieces usually range from the 19th century through to the 1950s.
