Exceptional large late 19th century wooden carving of a snarling Lion.
The figure of the snarling Lions original significance was as a guardian presence for Buddhist temples.
This is an amazing piece of presumed oriental origin.
It should be wall hung but at 14kg make sure it is professionally mounted. Slight damage to the tail as shown but otherwise in super condition for its age.
Beautifully carved and hand painted.
This is a rare find.
