Antique Framed Pugilism Print, Early 19th Century
Hand-coloured etching depicting Martin with his sideburns, breeches and well-built physique putting up his dukes.
Underneath there are five lines of fighting history charting his career to this point starting at his debut at age 18.
Drawn from life and then etched by A. Easto 1781-1844.
Published by S. W. FORES, London, 1819.
Framed and glazed in a simple gilt frame with a blue mount.
The etching itself is in good vintage order, there is some slight foxing but nothing too serious, there are no rips, holes or tears and the watercolours aren’t faded. The frame is also in good order.
